How did you get into developing apps?
Network Intercept:
The exponential growth of the the smartphone market is easy to see and I think we have just touched upon the tip of the iceberg of what’s to come. Network Intercept’s goal is to protect internet user while they are surfing the web and so it was a natural progression for us to extend our protection from the desktop to mobile web browsing. I still see so many great opportunities in the mobile browsing marketplace.

What was your inspiration for developing this app?
Network Intercept:
Mobile web security is a challenge that many vendors ignore due to the variety of platforms that need to be supported. That said, we saw a great demand for security as identity theft and data loss from mobile web browsing began to rise. We believe a challenge is not a reason to ignore a need. We stood up to this challenge to secure our users as they browse the internet from their smartphones. We started to develop our applications on the Android platform because we foresee Google as the future market leader. We have since extended our security to cover additional platforms, such as Windows Mobile, iPhone, and Symbian.

How long did it take to develop the app?
Network Intercept:
We spent several months designing and building the application. It went through several rigorous beta tests before we released it to the public.

Are there any hidden features to the app?
Network Intercept:
A special asset to the program is Script Scanning, which scans each web page a user navigates to, for harmful intent. If a malicious script is found, on a website, the program will block it from reaching the smartphone and will alert the user.

Do you have any future plans for this app?
Network Intercept:
Although we would like to be able to continue on the path of securing standard internet browsers, it looks as though we will have to build our own. There are too many inconsistencies across platforms to maintain support of standard browsers.

Do you plan to develop any new apps? If so when can we expect to see them in the Market?
Network Intercept:
Yes, we already have several new smartphone apps in the works and in beta. We expect to release some of these in the New Year, so keep your eyes on us and get ready to be excited.
