How to Solar Charge Your G1

You can charge your G1 with solar energy thanks to the Solio Solar Charger. Using this charger is really simple, all you need to do is spread the 3 solar panels out and leave the charger where it can get sunlight to charge its rechargeable Lithium Ion 3.7V 1.65A cell battery. You can either prop the charger up with a standard size pencil or you can use the suction cup it comes with to stick it to a window until it’s finished charging. Once it’s finished charging simply slide the solar panels closed and you are ready to charge your phone. The battery takes between 8 to 10 hours of direct sunlight in order to be fully charged. A full charge will give you up to 14 hours of additional standby time for your G1.
When I tried this charger out I was really surprised at how well it works. I was unsure as to how much power it would give my G1 when my phone battery was pretty much dead. I plugged my phone into the charger and it charged fairly quickly. I also played a few games on the phone while it was charging to see how well it charged while the phone was in use and it did pretty well. Playing the games while it was charging did not seem to significantly slow the charging process down either. Another cool feature to this accessory is the many plugs that it comes with, so you can charge your G1, iPod, other various electronics and it even comes with a USB plug. Hopefully Solio will have plugs for other Android phones soon but for now this charger is only compatible with the G1.
Overall, this is an effective, green solar charger for the G1. The Solio Charger is available in our store here: Solio Solar Charger

Will this work with the Moto Droid? I have tried several solar chargers and portable batteries with no luck of putting out enough juice to charge my phone. If it could be confirmed that the Solio would charge the Moto Droid, it would be a great investment for me.
Hi, please contact customer service and see if the plug is available for the Motorola Droid. Here is their e-mail: .
