How did you get into developing apps?
Francois DESLANDES:
I was developer few year ago. It was a job AND a passion. Now, I am software team manager… less coding, more responsibility. Few month ago, I changed my phone from Windows mobile to Android… and I thought : “Whoaaa ! Excellent !”. After few days, I saw some drawbacks : poor widgets. I was really used to my home page in Winmo. So, I decided to try to code a widget … and the story starts here !

What was your inspiration for developing this app?
Francois DESLANDES:
I made a first widget ‘Weather forecast’ based a Google widget example. Always compared to Windows Mobile, I was thinking to the poor Google calendar widget. I was looking for something : Simple, useful and design. And here we are : ‘Pure calendar’ is born !

How long did it take to develop the app?
Francois DESLANDES:
In hours ? something about 250h…I try to follow all user need. I use a forum to exchange with advanced users, and I try to take into account all market comments.

Do you have any future plans for this app?
Francois DESLANDES:
Yes… I’d like to make it scrollable. The best would be swipe & scroll … unfortunately, it is not available in the current Google SDK. So, it will be buttons. I want to make each event selectable (with trackball or keypad) to make individual actions. And configuration font sizes would be nice.

Do you plan to develop any new apps? If so when can we expect to see them in the Market?
Francois DESLANDES:
Currently, I had a lot of work to adapt my widgets to Moto Droid and its new resolution. But, now I have more time to work on ‘Pure messenger’. My last widget. It allows to see Gmail, Sms, emails (POP&IMAP) and Facebook in a widget.
There is a lot of work to make it perfect. I’d like additional layouts, more stable, with Gtalk & Twitter…
You can see a screenshots and news about my widgets on my blog : http://koxx3.wordpress.com
I have also developed ‘Pure grid calendar’ (similar to HTC Sense calendar widget).
