The SpecTrek Android App by SpecTrekking.com is a reality ghost hunting game for the Android. To play the game you simply walk or run around using your phone’s GPS and camera to find and catch virtual ghosts. You can tilt your phone up so you can use the camera to see the ghosts in order to capture them or you can title the phone so it is flat with the screen facing up to use the map in order to find the ghosts. There are 3 modes of gameplay, a 15 minute game, 45 minute game and 2 hour game.

At any time while playing the game you can access the Control Screen to view your progress, check your stats, records and awards. You can also see how much time you have left in your game as well as how much distance you have traveled, your average speed, movingtime, average moving speed and how many calories you have burned. A suggestion for the calories burned feature would be to add an actual BMI calculator and have the user enter in their stats in order to make this feature more accurate. From the actual game play screens you can see how much time you have left and from the map gameplay screen you will be given a compass to help you better navigate to the ghosts. Once you find a ghost you can capture it by pressing the button in the bottom right hand corner with the net on it from the camera gameplay screen.

Overall, this is a really cool concept that is really fun to play. At the time of this review the SpecTrek Android App is €1.99. Thumbs Up.
