Root and Me Android App Review

The Root and Me Android App by Jake Schultz is a launcher panel that responds to specific swipe actions. The app utilizes the haptic feedback and sensors on the phone to determine the swiping action and once the swiping action occurs you have several different options that you can choose from. Like other launcher panels the options menu within the app itself has an embedded feature for you to select where you would like for the swipe actions to occur in order to utilize the app itself. Once the swipe action is performed you can set shortcuts to apps and other system related items. The app is designed to be convenient and has a logical, simple flow to it, so you do not need to be technology savvy you just need to be able to follow simple directions.
When you open the app you will need to go through the setup wizard to setup the SwipePad app. After completed with setup you can go ahead and perform a swipe action in the area of the phone you specified. Once you feel the haptic feedback you can drag to the center of the screen and all of your already set up shortcuts will be there. From here you will be able to select, add, or change any of the items you would like placed in the shortcut bar. This is an excellent tool if you hate going back and forth between apps and having to open the app drawer every time or if you like clutter free screens.
Overall, this is app is fantastic and a must have. At the time of this review the Root and Me Android App is free and SwipePad by Calcium Ion is available for download on the Android Market. Thumbs up!
