The WebMD for Android App by WebMD, LLC app is an android optimized version of the popular website WebMD.com. The app has a ton of features that the website utilizes and is truly optimized for your android device. The interface is simple and easy to navigate and offers different sections for checking symptoms, conditions, drugs & treatments, First Aid, and local health listings. This app comes in handy when you need to do some medical research, need to find a local medical establishment, or if you would like to learn about a newly prescribed medication. This is an excellent medical reference tool.
When you open up the app it will load and present you with the options as detailed above. When you click on the Find a Local health listing option it will allow you to enter a location or use your current GPS location. Based on this you can search for a physician, pharmacy, or hospital. The results will be displayed based on your geo-location or the zip code you entered and you can sort by distance. This is a great feature if you are just coming out of the Dr’s office and need to get a script filled quickly as the detailed listings will show which pharmacies have express one hour processing.
Overall, this is a great app to have as a medical reference/ medical locator guide. At the time of this review the WebMD for Android App is free. Thumbs Up.
