WatchESPN Android App Review

The WatchESPN Android App by ESPN Inc app is an android optimized version of ESPN’s streaming service. One thing you should know is that this application requires Adobe AIR for OTA updates and notifications. If you do not download it before hand you will be prompted on the first opening of the app to download it. The WatchESPN app is ESPN’s attempt to bring live streaming sports to your Android device. Currently only a few internet/cable providers are enabled to use this app, so unfortunately if you have and ISP or cable provider who is not on the list then this app will not work for you. If you have a ISP who supports it but not a cable provider you will still be able to access the ESPN3 streaming channel in some cases.
When you open up the app you will be able to see the schedule of events that will be available for streaming for that day or in the days to come. Sportscenter clips are readily available for streaming according to what is available in the clips sections. Featured sports events for the day will be chosen and you will be able to view and stream whichever of the events that ESPN has posted for streaming and viewing. Clips from some of ESPN’s shows that are available include: Sportcenter, Mike and Mike, PTI, Sports Nation, Baseball tonight and many other ESPN original programs. There is a built in search function for quick searching.
Overall, this will be a great app as more cable providers are added. Until then it will need some work. At the time of this review the WatchESPN Android App is free.
