Titanium Backup Android App Review

The Titanium Backup for Root Users Android App by Titanium Track backups, restores, and even freezes (in pro version) applications, system data, and user data all to your SD Card. When you first open the app it will ask the superuser.apk to allow permission to run the app. Once opened there is a grid at the bottom of the app that will details how much space you have on both the internal memory and the SD card you have inserted. Some phones come with and internal SD Card (The Samsung Vibrant) and a micro SD Slot, so for those phones there will be three lines in the grid. This app has features that have a wide range of expertise level from the n00b level all the way up to the most advanced user levels.
Given the name the purpose of this app is to be able to back up all your applications on your phone to the SD card. This differs from the Google Backup feature that comes with all Android phones is this system also allows you to back up your user data within each app as well as all your system data. For instance, if you decide to flash a new ROM you can in essence flash it, then restore all apps, user data, and system data to make it as if you never even flashed a new ROM. Please be very careful and make sure your system frameworks are compatible with one another before restoring system data (i.e AOSP ROM’s vs Sense ROMS etc.) If you do not know what something is please research it or avoid it all together.
Overall, if you have the experience level and your Android device is rooted, this is a great app for restoring your device’s data as well as your personal data. There are a wide variety of features that are included in the free version, as well as many additional features that are in the Pro Version. I highly recommend this app for any Root user as it can be a wonderful tool that saves you a lot of time and grief.
