The Super Mario Bros Android App by free-games is pretty much a duplicate of the classic Super Mario Brothers game from NES for the Android platform. You even have a Game Genie option to enter codes which you can access by pressing the menu button on your Android device and then select the More option. The game is pretty much a copy of the real thing except for the secret 1ups that are hidden in certain levels in the original Super Mario Brothers game for NES. Also, you are not able to play 2 player mode with this version for the Android platform even though the option is visible from the home screen. One feature that you won’t find in the original Super Mario Brothers game for NES that you will with this version for the Android platform is an integrated Papaya social gaming platform. From Papaya you can share your scores and achievements and even chat with other players world wide.

The graphics are great, they really did a good job making them look like the original game. The main issue with this game are the controls. The controls are big, even though they have a low opacity, they take up too much room. The game also does not fill up the entire screen of the device I used to play it (Droid X) so those two issues really need to be addressed.

Overall, this is probably one of the best duplicates of the Super Mario Brothers game from the original NES for the Android platform currently in the Market that you do not need an emulator or rom to play. However, the controls need to be redesigned so that they do not take up so much room on the screen and the game needs to fill up the entire screen for all devices in order to truly have this be an excellent version of the original Super Mario Brothers for the Android platform.
