The Angry Birds Android App by Rovio Mobile is a puzzle/strategy/action Android game. The object of the game is to use the sling shot to throw the birds at the pig’s fortresses to destroy them. Each bird has a different power that can be used when it’s their turn to be thrown at the pig’s fortress. This game can be very challenging and it is physics based.

By default you will only be able to see the area where the sling shot is. You do have the ability to zoom in and out and scroll over to see parts of the level that you need to see. From the default view it makes more of a challenge not being able to see the pig’s fortress when you throw the birds. Once you throw a bird the camera will follow it until it lands on the fortress area. If you want to be able to view the entire level at once (sling shot area and pig fortress area) you will need to zoom out. When you are in the default view and throw a bird, it will leave a white cloud like trail to help you aim for your next turn. This helps aiming in this view quite a bit so that you are not throwing the birds without the ability to have a strategy or aim.

The graphics for this game are very high quality and the controls are very responsive. To throw a bird, simply select the bird in the sling shot, drag your finger back and then release to throw it. Some birds have powers that can be used by a brief press on the screen once. If you want to look around the level simply swipe on the screen with your finger in the direction that you want the camera to move to. To zoom in and out you will need to use a pinch gesture.

Overall, this is a challenging, high quality game with high quality graphics, a great gameplay and 150 levels. At the time of this review the Angry Birds Android App is free. Thumbs Up.
