WordPops Android App Review

The WordPops Android App by Larva Labs Ltd. is a game that is a cross between Tetris and Scrabble. The object of the game is to stop your screen from filling up with bubbles. You do this by creating words with the bubbles as each of them have a letter on them. Once you spell a word the bubbles will pop. You earn points based on how common the letters in your word are. There are two modes of gameplay, one is scored and one is not.
In addition to the bubbles with letters on them there are a few bonus bubbles that can increase your score, mutate the bubbles near it into new letters, freeze the bubbles allowing you more time to spell words without new ones falling down and instantly destroy all of the bubbles that are near it.
The word bank seems to consist of only 3 letter words. The game did not seem to recognize simple 2 letter words such as “no” for example. Maybe there needs to be a way to switch the letters that are on the screen in order to create more words because the way they come out now does not allow for a very high score as a game over seems to come up fairly quickly due to a lack of opportunity to create words.
Overall, this game has potential but it needs some work. At the time of this review the WordPops Android App is $2.99.
