The enTourage eDGeâ„¢ is the world’s first dual book and it is running an Android OS. This multifunction device allows you to read e-books, watch movies, listen to music, surf the Internet, take digital notes, send emails and instant messages. The enTourage eDGeâ„¢ features WiFi, SD Card and USB capabilities. This device can be used with Windows, Mac, or Linux-based PC operating systems to transfer files to and from the device.
Here is a breif overview of the specs:
- 1024 x 600 pixel color touchscreen
- Built in WiFi
- Google Android operating system (you can download apps to this device)
- Portrait or landscape mode and you can also flip everything around 180 degrees for right or left hand users.
- 3GB of usable memory in addition to the ability to use an SD Card
- Lithium ion battery up to 16 hours of reading without recharging. Ability to replace the battery or even use a spare battery if needed.
The enTourage eDGe™ measures 8 ¼ by 10 ¾ by 1†and comes in midnight blue at no extra charge. If you want any of the following colors: Piano Black, Ruby Red, Glacier White or Ice Blue there is an extra $40 charge. The device itself costs $499 and is supposed to ship this month.
The enTourage eDGeâ„¢ looks like it’s main competitor is the Kindle which it definatley blows away, however I’m not so sure that it will be able to compete with the iPad or Android Tablets that will be available soon. The main missing element of this device is the 3G capability in order to compete with the iPad and Tablets. What are your thoughts?
