How did you get into developing apps?
AndroidDesigners, LLC:
As an existing Java developer and a developer of other applications (see www.yakkle.com) when the opportunity arrived to build something for a new platform (Android OS) I jumped to it. Given a chance to make money with it was just icing on the cake.

What was your inspiration for developing this app?
AndroidDesigners, LLC:
My father. He was a ham radio operator and was in the Navy and had to learn Morse Code. It also turned out that Morse Code was first transmitted on my birthday (May 24th)….kind of a unique coincidence, of course not on my birthday year. At the time I built this app, there was no Morse Code applications in the market yet.

How long did it take to develop the app?
AndroidDesigners, LLC:
Since this was my first app, I had to figure out the whole Eclipse + Android SDK environment and testing, etc. I also had to purchase a developers phone and set that up. All tolled, I’d say that I spent about 4 weeks getting the app ready.

Are there any hidden features to the app?
AndroidDesigners, LLC:
There are no hidden features, unless you use the teach mode to make morse code and send that or tweet that someone. They’ll either need to understand morse code or they’ll need their own copy in order to translate it back to English. Kind of neat “secret code” way to communicate with someone.

Do you have any future plans for this app?
AndroidDesigners, LLC:
I plan on enhancing the sounds as I currently use two tones and I want to change that over to use .wav files. I’d also like to generate a ring tone from morse code. Then someone could enter someone’s name and get the resulting morse code sound for that persons name. Maybe “SOS” when your spouse calls!

Do you plan to develop any new apps? If so when can we expect to see them in the Market?
AndroidDesigners, LLC:
Yes, my partners and I at Android Designers, LLC & on twitter: androiddesigner) are working on a bunch of new applications. We would like to be able to release a new application every quarter.

I would absolutely love it if you converted your morse code maker application so that it will take whoever is calling you, and convert it to Morse Code. For instance if John Smith calls, it will convert that into a ring tone.
Thanks!
Bryan
I would like to get some tips on creating tones like morse code in Android. Any tips are appreciated.
