How did you get into developing apps?

I am in the development business for about 10 years. In the last years I focused on developing web applications. As the Android platform came out I found this very interesting to support it by myself.

What was your inspiration for developing this app?

jaavo.com:

I am managing my personal money by tracking my income and expenses every day for a long time. As I have got my new T-Mobile G1 in February 2009 I looked around for a suitable app to fill my needs. Unfortunately I didn’t found the one I like. The most apps of this kind are to simple designed or the UI was not very nice in my opinion. To start Android development I decided to create an expense tracker app which is suitable for me. This time jaavoMoney was born.

How long did it take to develop the app?

jaavo.com:

Because I am only a part time Android developer I can spend just about 1 – 2 hours a day for this approach. I started in May 2009 and published the first release to the Android market on August 2009. I estimate that I spent about 150 hours to create this app. But this time includes the time to learn Android programming.

Are there any hidden features to the app?

All features in my app are visible to the user.

Do you have any future plans for this app?

jaavo.com:

I plan to implement very much features in the future. I try to publish one release per week. I will precede this for the next few months.

Do you plan to develop any new apps? If so when can we expect to see them in the Market?

jaavo.com:

Yes, I plan to develop further applications. This time I think about the right new app but this is now a secret.
