The Google Goggles Android App by Google Inc. is a visual search app for the Android. There is a few screens of instructions that shows you examples of what you can take pictures of. The first screen shows you what you can take pictures of for example: Books & DVDs, Landmarks, Logos, Contact Info, Artwork, Businesses, Products, Barcodes and Text. The next screen tells you what the app will probably not work with for example: animals, furniture and apparel. There is also a video on this page that shows you a demo of how to apps works. Here is the video:
On the next screen you will be asked if you want to enable search history. Once you have selected an option you will be able to perform a picture search. When you take a picture a blue scanner laser, looking thing will scan your image and you will then see your results displayed on the next screen. I tested it out on a few items and it works really well, it worked really well with the barcode that I scanned too.
Overall, this is a great app for image searching. At the time of this review the Google Goggles Android App is free. Highest Seal of Approval.
