How did you get into developing apps?

Levente Fall:

It was a coincidence. I had to replace my phone with a new one. This new one had java support, so I have decided to try out the java capabilities of the phone. Started with a small application (puzzle game) and I received a lot of good feedbacks. Then I started to share my applications on the webpage (www.peregin.com). It’s my main hobby now, to improve my webpage, the applications on the page. Of course at the time when android appeared I was curious about this new phone and the provided environment.

What was your inspiration for developing this app?

Levente Fall:

I started as fun and hobby and kept it this way. Sometime it is very challenging to solve problems on small devices, like traveling back in time to the commodore and zx spectrum age. It is also very inspiring to receive so many positive feedbacks.

How long did it take to develop the app?

Levente Fall:

Not so long… Actually that’s what I like in the phone development, since it is a small application with a well defined purpose the functionality can be developed in spare time, mostly some of the weekends or staying in front of the computer longer at some the nights. The overall development time was less than 4 weeks. Plus the application can upload the high score the server, so I have implemented a small server side code also in order to accept these scores and the ability to list them on the page.

Are there any hidden features to the app?

Levente Fall:

No, I don’t really like the ‘hidden’ features. I think one of the main reasons why I received so many feedbacks is that the focus is on the simplicity and clarity. You are getting exactly what you see and probably expect from the game, it is self describing everything.

Do you have any future plans for this app?

Levente Fall:

Yes, I trying always to improve it based on the feedbacks and my ideas as well. To introduce more levels, different type of statistics or top lists, like top scores based on countries, since in Android it is easy to access GPS coordinates.

Do you plan to develop any new apps? If so when can we expect to see them in the Market?

Levente Fall:

Sure, always collecting new ideas for applications. Maybe some new puzzle game (good to play them while waiting 5 minutes at the bus station or traveling, etc) or some useful application which could solve a problem in an elegant manner and make some people life easier.
