How did you get into developing apps?
Androidia.co.uk:
I started developing apps for the android phones when I bought my son a T-Mobile G1. I have always enjoyed writing programs as a hobby and this seemed like a fun way to enhance the phone, although it was my first foray into the world of mobile applications.

What was your inspiration for developing this app?
Androidia.co.uk:
Egg Hunt was inspired by a great little game from the early 90′s called KYE which I used to play on the PC. I still have a copy and my children enjoy playing it too.

How long did it take to develop the app?
Androidia.co.uk:
The game took a couple of months to complete, mainly working at weekends and occasionally in the evening. I used the example applications which come with the development kit as a starting point, and did lots of browsing through forums and e-mail lists to overcome any problems I encountered.

Are there any hidden features to the app?
Androidia.co.uk:
There is one hidden feature in the game which allows you to skip a level even though you haven’t completed it, and there is currently a unused feature which involves capturing a golden egg before the golden android gets to it.

Do you have any future plans for this app?
Androidia.co.uk:
Future plans for the game include releasing more levels incorporating the aforementioned golden egg, perhaps adding sounds and/or music, and providing a level editor so that people can create their own levels to play and exchange.

Do you plan to develop any new apps? If so when can we expect to see them in the Market?
Androidia.co.uk:
I have already released a few more games, Block Jam, Block Push and Firestarter, all of which are already available in the Market. I also have an application in the UK Market, called Congestion, for users in the London area, which can send a pre-determined SMS to pay for the London congestion charge. I am currently working on another game, again, inspired by the games my children play.
