How did you get into developing apps?
Excelltech:
A former co-worker showed me his new 3G iPhone, and I took a look around the App Store and thought it was now or never. I soon quit my former job and dove into making apps full time. It’s been hectic and nerve-wracking at times, but I haven’t regretted the decision yet!

What was your inspiration for developing this app?
Excelltech:
I’m usually a pretty nice guy, so I have a hard time telling people that they are boring and I’d rather be doing something else. A couple of these times, I’ve received a phone call from someone and been lucky enough to be able to excuse myself…. which got me wishing I could summon a phone call on demand… hence.. Fake-A-Call!

How long did it take to develop the app?
Excelltech:
Fake-A-Call Free was the first Android application I developed, so it took me awhile to get the hang of things and get past some newbie hangups. All on all it took me around a month to complete.

Are there any hidden features to the app?
Excelltech:
It’s not really hidden per se, but if you schedule a fake call and then use your phone’s back button, you can continue using the phone as normal and will still be interrupted by the fake call at your scheduled time.

Do you have any future plans for this app?
Excelltech:
Yes! We are planning on adding a ton of new features, such as a voice on the other end of the line, picture selection, and much more! Look for updates in the coming weeks.

Do you plan to develop any new apps? If so when can we expect to see them in the Market?
Excelltech:
We think 2010 is the year of the Android and are working to port our numerous iPhone titles to the Android platform. We just released a fun Thanksgiving app, Thanksgiving Turkey Calls, and plan to have many more titles out there in the coming months.
