Nimbuzz Android App Review

The Nimbuzz Android App by Nimbuzz BV is an all-in-one IM application for the Android. You will need to create a Nimbuzz account which you can do right from the sign in screen of the app. They ask you to enter you enter your phone number which I was unsure as to why they needed this information. Generally, out of all the other IM clients that I’ve seen I have not been asked this information. There should be a privacy policy posted in a link next to this ensuring users that their phone numbers will not be sold and also an explanation as to why this is necessary. I’ll let the developer comment on this review to explain this to everyone.

Once you have created an account from the Nimbuzz tab there is an Add Contacts button where you can choose from a list of IM clients such as: Windows Live Messenger (MSN), Skype, Yahoo, FaceBook, Google Talk, AIM, MySpace, ICQ, StudyVZ, SchuelerVZ, GaduGadu, Hyves, Jabber, and Giovani. To add a client simply select the client and enter in your user name and password. Your contacts from this client will be added to your list.

The Good:
This is a really cool app because it consolidates all of your IM contacts into one list for easy access. You can even hide your offline contacts, make a display group and many more options from the main menu. To access the main menu simply press the Menu button on your phone.

The Bad:
It has a some issues staying connected, if you lose your connection you lose your messages.

Overall, this app is pretty cool and has a potential to become of the best IM applications in the Market for the Android. At the time of this review the Nimbuzz Android App is free. Thumbs Up.
