It’s rumored that HTC might be considering using the Android Platform over Windows OS for the HTC Touch HD2. Originally the HTC Touch HD was going to be a Windows Mobile 6.1 device. This rumor came from an unregistered source and most details are currently unknown but if it’s true this will be a great accomplishment for Google and open the door for even better application possibilities for developers.
The HTC Touch HD2 it said to have a 3.8-inch, 800×480 touchscreen giving it the sharpest display for an Android phone yet. Not only would this be great for Android fans but it’s also going to give Microsoft a wake up call as the winner from these competing platforms will become more apparent if this it true. HTC is currently one of the largest manufacturers of Windows Mobile cell phones to date. This could mean a huge profit loss for Microsoft if HTC replaces all of their Windows OS with the Android platform. Another recent rumor suggested that most HTC phones will use the Android platform in 2010.
