CuTewit Android App Review

The CuTewit Android App by jayesh is a Twitter app for the Android. This app features a full application as well as a widget. When the app first loads you will come to the login screen. Once you log in you will see your news feed. There is a small menu button in the bottom right hand corner that when pressed will pull up 4 buttons: friends, replies, direct and twit. If you press the menu button on your phone these 4 will appear as well as a search and settings button. In the right hand corner there is a refresh button to refresh your news feed.

With the most recent update there is a standard widget which displays the first 20 tweets. A cool feature is that it shows the icons next to the tweets just like it does on the actual website. All of this is right on your home screen which is great if you want to periodically check Twitter quickly. You also have a choice of a second “Micro” widget. This widget occupies 1 icon and it displays the profile image of latest tweet and shows two counts which describe the number of new tweets as well as the number of new replies. The coloring of the text should definitely be changed to something easier on the eyes, but other than that this app has a lot of potential and is pretty good as it is now.

Overall, if you are a frequent Twitter user then you should check out this app. At the time of this review the CuTewit Android App is free. Thumbs Up.

    Hi,

I just released v2.5 of CuTewit to the market. It comes with two choices of color schemes/themes. A soft light colored theme “leaf” is the default. For those who prefer dark backgrounds, there is choice of another theme “coke”, that can be selected in the settings.

Also v2.5 features automatic preview of twitpic/yfrog images. i.e. if you tap on twits that have twitpic.com or yfrog.com; then CuTewit will show you a thumbnail preview of the image. This will save a trip to the browser to view the image.
