The chompSMS Android App by chompSMS is a SMS app that offers G1 users a virtual keyboard, chat style SMS bubbles and cheap SMS rates. The main difference between this application and the SMS feature that comes with this phone is the virtual keyboard and the cheaper rates. When you press the Menu button you have 4 different options:

• View all conversations
• Compose a new conversation
• Option to delete conversations
• Settings

In the Settings tab you have quite a few more options:

• Select how you want to send SMS messages, either via chompSMS (you will need to purchase credits forthis) or via your mobile carrier (your SMS plan that you purchased through your phone carrier).
• Buy credits or restore your credits if you lost them.
• Select a ringtone for your SMS messages
• Select the option to have the phone vibrate along with a ringtone when you receive a SMS message.
• View the number of messages you have sent with the messages counter with the option to reset it.
• Option to display larger fonts
• Keyboard options which include: Send using the Enter key, click sound when using the touchscreen keyboard or have the phone vibrate when the touchscreen is used.

This app provides the user a different, improved SMS messaging user interface. This app has a lot of potential.
