The Hello AIM! Android App by Multiple Facets Inc. allows you to chat with your AIM buddies. The user interface is very easy to use and setting this app up is very simple. When you first load the app you will be prompted to enter your username and password and then you are ready to chat. When you first sign in all of your groups will be listed, to see your buddies in each group, touch (or press the track ball) on a group and the contacts will be displayed. To chat, select a buddy by touching the screen or use the track ball to scroll to the buddy and then click the track ball. In the chat window when you press the Menu button you have the options:
- to Send your buddy your location.
- Add an emotion to your conversation (choose from quite a few, to see more of them use your finger on the screen to scroll through the different selections.).
- Clear your chat history
- Send your conversation in an e-mail
- End Chat
When you press the menu button in the buddy list view you have the options to:
- Set your status which you can also save for later use. You can set different messages for away and idle.
- Add a group
- Add a buddy
- Change your preferences
- Sign Out
To add a buddy from the buddy list screen, press and hold for 1 second on the group that you wish to add a new buddy to or . You can also rename or remove a group from here as well. A cool feature this app offers is that if you have set an alias for any of your buddies this will transfer to the Hello AIM! app. The only normal AIM features it seems to be missing is the ability to send and recieve files or use group chat. Ultimately this app is a must if you use AIM.
